This elk print holds a particularly special meaning to me because it was inspired by one of my mom's favorite places in Malone — The Elks Lodge.

For my mom, the Elks was so much more than a place to gather. It was a community filled with familiar faces, friendships, laughter, and people who genuinely cared about one another.

Even as her dementia progressed, she continued to be welcomed with open arms and warm hearts. She was treated with kindness, respect, understanding, and grace. And as her daughter, that's something I will never forget.

I created this elk as a tribute to that sense of belonging and to the people who made sure my mom always had a place where she felt welcome.

About the Print

Part of The Loon Project's limited-edition Adirondack Wildlife Collection, this original linocut design is individually hand-carved, inked, and hand-pulled.

Because each print is created by hand, no two will ever be exactly alike. Slight variations in ink coverage, texture, and impression are natural parts of the traditional printmaking process. These beautiful imperfections make each piece truly unique.

Only 50 prints of this design will be created. Once they're gone, this edition will not be reproduced.

Art with a Purpose

This collection was created in honor of my mom and the community that has shown our family so much love. After $1 per print to cover matboard costs, all remaining proceeds will support a Malone-area community or educational initiative. Details about the recipient will be shared on The Loon Project website once finalized.
