This is The Loon Project
The Loon Project began with my mom. During one of the hardest chapters of my life, art became a way to connect, create, and hold onto moments that dementia was slowly changing.
I started creating as a way to connect with her, to help in some small way, and to raise money for a cause that has touched generations of my family. Somewhere along the way, the creating became something I needed, too. It gave me a place to breathe, make something beautiful and find pieces of myself again.
Today, The Loon Project has grown into a mix of my original art, pieces inspired by the Adirondacks, and things I find, love, and think you might love too — all with a bigger purpose behind them.
This project was supposed to save my mom. Instead, it saved me.
